Winter memory of summer souse, of cold salt-wrapped plunge.
Of a day that seems to live a century ago now.
And this night, as a riled Boreas now wings about, black and endless,
for a moment the half-dream eclipses my nocturnal Trinitron sun.

The berries are abundant again this year, and I took this photo before the Blackbird ate them all. If he’s not eating the berries, he’s usually singing a hushed tune in the Bay tree.
